Know all men by these presents that I Elizabeth See widow of William See deceased of the County of Montgomery and State of Kentucky for diverse good reasons me thereunto nowing do ordain Constitue and appoint my trusty friend Benjamin Hensly of the County and State aforesaid my Special Attorny for the following purpose or purposes to wit Whereas it is represented to me that the widows of those Soliers who served in the late war and who died in the services are Entitled to draw from the United states or its proper officers a pention or half pay or Same ? or pay tho the precise definition of the same cannot now be Given and William See my said Husband having Enlisted in the 28th Regiment of the United States infantry on the fourteenth day of April 1813 under Captain Henry Darnel and having died in the Service and in the Expectation that by Law I as his widow will be entitled to a pention half pay or some other proffit or ? do hereby authorised the said Benjamin Hensly to receive from the Said United States or its proper officer all the money which by Law I am entitled to receive Giving him full power to do all and every thing the ? in as ample a maner as if I myself was personally present and do hereby ratify and Confirm all my Said Monys said actings and doings ? ? the premises. In witness whereof I have herunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 9th day of September in year of our Lord 1816
