James AUXIER

James Auxier was born in Kentucky. He married Elizabeth Ewing in Kentucky about 1810. They made their home in Preble County, Ohio. In 1856 James and Elizabeth bought land in Warren County, Indiana. Several of their children moved to Warren County with them and others remained in Ohio. James died in 1873, he and Elizabeth are buried near Williamsport, Indiana. They were the parents of:

1. George W. Oxer who married Phoebe Gard
2. Sarah Oxier who married John Hefner
3. William James Oxer who married Louisa Ellis
4. Mary J. Oxer who married Abram H. Florey
5. Serlida Oxer
6. Susan Oxer who married William Nixon
7. Prisilla Oxer who marred a man named Houser.

Michael Auxier I was the patriarch of the Auxier family in the United States and Canada . Michael I was born about 1685 near town of Auxerre in France. Michael Auxier I arrived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1742, having sailed on board "The Robert and Alice" from Germany by way of Cowes, England. Michael Auxier I was the father of at least three children
