Josiah - there is a headstone in a cemetery in Overton County, TN. of a Joel Copeland born in 1734, d. 1814, it is believed to be the same person. There are a number of Copelands in Overton County other than the dependants of Stephen Copeland (son of Joseph) and his family that have not been identified. (There is a Josiah Copeland on NC. list of Rev. War Soldiers (R-Pat-NC) 1729-1791.)James - He supposedly lived all his life in Chatham Co.. NC. and died there in 1809. There is a James who settled in Madison County, Ala. and is on the 1809 Special census there, could this be his son?
