Passed away suddenly of Heart Failure before arrival of Doctor
James L. See, age 48 years, was taken suddenly ill with heart failure yesterday afternoon about 3 o'clock when at work on the concrete work at the new house Harley Carter is constructing on East Kirkwood street, and before the arrival of the doctor, he had passed away.
    The funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10 o'clock from the Hoskins funeral home, in charge of Rev. J. H. Tompkins. Burial will be made in the cemetery at Birmingham.
    Mr. See was born Sept 25, 1880 in Idaho. He is survived by his wife and seven children who are as follows: Hazel, Sylvia, Loretta, Margaret, Harry, Beulah, and Merlin. He also leaves his mother, Mrs. George Leeper of this city, and two brothers Jasper See of Fairfield and John See of Canada and a sister Mrs. Fred Wilson of Birmingham.
(Note: Mrs. Fred Wilson is probably an error, it probably should be Mrs. Fred Williams, as we have evidence that Luella See married James F. Wilson in Mo.)

Mrs. J. See Dies Following Long Ilness
Life Long resident of Jefferson County is taken
Mrs. Hilda Elma See, 47 of Fairfield, died today at 11 a.m. in the Jefferson county hospital where she was taken Sunday following and extended illness. She had been in  failing health for the past 13 months, and seriously ill for six weeks. She was born in Jefferson county on March 6, 1894 and had been a life long resident of the community.
    Funeral sevices will be conducted at the Hoskins funeral home Wed. at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
    Surviving are the husband, Jasper See; one daughter, Mrs. Walter Hill, Fairfield; one son Glenn Keltner, Davenport; one grandchild Elma Josephine Hill, Fairfield; three brothers, Harry of Davenport, Roy Cook of Fairfield and Wesley Cook of Quincy; a nephew, Marshall Simmons, who has made his home with the See's since childhood.

Rites Saturday for Mrs. See
Last rites for Annie Maude Raines See, 82, will be Saturday at the Raymond Funeral Home.
    The service will be at 10 a.m. with Rev. Donald Hickman officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.
    Mrs. See died Wed. about 11:15 a.m. at the Jefferson County Hospital where she had been admitted Tues evening. Her address was 707 W. Jackson.
    Annie Maude Raines See was born July 18, 1890, in Salem, the daughter of Elijah and Edith Harvey Raines. She was reared and educated in the Mount Pleasant Community.
    She was married in 1943 at Fairfield to Jasper See. He died Sept 16, 1960. Mrs. See was a member of the Four Square Church and the VFW Auxiliary.
    Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Verle Hagans, and Mrs, Evelyn Walley, both of Fairfield; one son, Donald Finger, East Moline, several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Max Raines, Arlington Heights, Illinois, along with nieces and nephews.
    In addition to her husband, Mrs. See was preceded in death by two sons, two brothers and two sisters.

JAMES B. SEE PASSES AWAY IN TACOMA

James B. See son of a Union county pioneer family and former resident of the Grande Ronde Valley, is dead at Tacoma, Wash. according to word recieved here. His body will be forwarded to the Snodgrass and Zimmerman mortuary for local burial. Funeral arrangments are not complete. Mr. See was born near Island City June 25, 1869 and lived here until 17 years ago when he moved to Washington. He is survived by his father, Benjamin See of La Grande; four brothers, Jeff, France, George and Albert See, and one sister, Anna Arthur of Stanfield, Ore. as well as a number of other relatives and a large circle of friends.

James B. See who was born in 1869 near Island City, died this week in Tacoma. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Summerville chapel under the auspices of the Moose lodge. He is survived by his father, Benjamin See who resides in La Grande. Four brothers, Jefferson, Franc, George and Albert. And a sister, Anna Arthur living at Stanfield. The See family were early settlers of this valley and for many years made their home in the Summerville district.1  DEAT
