He moved to Abilene, TX with his family, when he was an infant.  He g raduated
from Saint Joseph's Academy in Abilene, John Peter Smith School of Nu rsing &
Texas Wesleyan University of Fort Worth, TX, the School of Anesthesi a at Barnes
Hospital & Washington University at St. Louis, MO.  He also attende d Abilene
Christian University.  He was a nurse anesthetist at Hendrick Medica l Center
in Abilene from 1960 until 1990.  From 1988 to the time of his death , he was
Secretary-Treasurer for the Texas Association of Nurse Anesthetists.

One of his sisters & his mother stated that he had, shortly before hi s death,
dropped a hint that his life had been threatened.  On the afternoon o f 3 May
1991, his mother says a man, unknown to her, came to his door & aske d her if
he could, "...speak to the man that lives here."  Cecil came to the d oor went
out on the porch to talk to the man for some length of time.  He di d not tell
his mother who the man was, or what the discussion was about.  She sa ys that
she would know the man if she ever saw him again.  Cecil had also sta ted on
several occasions, that the people living next door to him (on the no rth) were
very dangerous & that the only way he could get away from them was t o move.

His mother states that he was apparently murdered on 3 May 1991, & she
found him dead in his home on 6 May 1991, (he was found on his bed co mpletely
nude).  She said it looked to her as if his body had been just throw n there
after being killed some place else.  His brother, Coy, says that hi s death
certificate states that he died of carbon monoxide poisoning.  Some o f his
neighbors stated that there were people in and out of Cecil's house a t all
hours during the weekend after he was apparently killed on Friday nig ht.

It appears that he may have known the person or persons that killed h im, as
the burgler alarm did not signal the police, so it was either disarme d or he
disarmed it to let them in.

His wallet (containing about $1000), credit cards, pistol, & rented v an were
stolen. The credit cards were used from TX to CO.  The rented van wa s located in
CO.  His mother says that, judging from withdrawals made from his che cking
account, he may have been blackmailed.

Three Abilene TV Stations took pictures of his house & removal of th e body.

The pistol was a 4 inch, 38 caliber, model 15-86K2269 (all informatio n from
the box the pistol came in.)

The police have one bill from a convenience store in Amarillo, TX whe re one
of the credit cards was used.  The last place in CO where one of th e cards was
used was in Paonia, CO.

Much of the above information was given to Lottie by Police Sgt. Davi d Gage.

Came home from a party with a bad headache after having some
alcoholic drinks. Her husband, a doctor, decided to give her
a "hypo". He came back in a short while, and found her dead.
