Settled on the Saluda River, Greenville County, South Carolina, there reared most of his children, later removed to Polk County, Tennessee, settled on Conasauga Creek near the south line of McMinn County. Parents of Jessee, Samuel, John, William, James, Thomas, Stanwix and Pearson Brummett.  Jess and Samuel settled in east Texas, married and reared childre.  Thomas and James married in South Carolina, removed to Rusk county, Texas , settled and reared their children.  John married Mary Cobb, daughter of Joseph, purchased the Mayfield homestead, and there reared his children.  Pearson Brummett married Caroline Mc Connell of Benton, Tennessee, settled in Cleveland, Tennessee, practed law and reared his children.  Stanwix married Lou Rice of, or near Riceville, Tennessee, moved to Arkansas, setted at Pea Ridge and reared his children.  On his farm the Pea Ridge battle of the Civil war was fought. William married Lillian Blythe, daughter of David, of Greenville county, South Carolina, of English descent.
