Ryland Thomas Dillard Zimmerman fought in two wars, the War with Mexico and the Civil War. He was in the Northern Army. My Dad said they used to call him "Hell Fire" for he was a preacher, evidently of the brimstone type. He lived and preached in Owingsville, KY, where I have seen records of his works at the alter. He applied for a pension from both wars, evidently in Mexico he became ill with a Montezuma revenge which he kept his lifetime. Have a map in 1880 of Owingsville showing that RTD lived where what is now called Hwy 36 on the east side of the road just south of Prickly Ash Creek and North of an Lee Branch..

Stoner Power died Wednesday, Feb. 22 from a nervous disease. Services at the home Thursday by Edler Zimmerman with burial in Owingsville Cemetery. He was the eldest child of Willaim W. Last week we gave a notice of the death of Mrs. George Trumbo of upper White Oak. She was a daughter of Thomas S. and Mary E. Vice and was born Oct. 6, 1870 and died May 18, 1906. Feb. 15, Elder R.T.D. Zimmerman, a resident of our neighborhood for about 33 years. Baptized about 2000 and married about 1500. Had he lived to the 25th of this month, he would have been 80. Funeral by Elder Lee Jones. Upper Prickly Ash.
