"Marshal Elmer Nelson age 76, passed away at his home at 518 North Main street ,at 7:30 a. m. Wednesday, January 15. A contractor by trade, Mr. Nelson had been a resident of this community for 25 years. He was born in Indiana on September 15, 1860, (sic) the son of Silas M. and Mildred Zimmermans (sic) Nelson.

"Surviving are the wife, Jennie of the home, four daughters, Elsie May Johnston, Phoenix, Ariz; Dollie Cummings and Jessie Ford and Mattie Davidson all of Kansas City, Mo.; two sons, Chas. C. Nelson of Kansas City, and Earl W. Nelson of Butler; four brothers, Geo. R. Nelson of Lewisburg, Kansas; William Nelson, Belton, Mo.; Perry Nelson, Cleveland, Mo.; and Francis Nelson of Olathe, Kansas; two sisters, Nellie Bell, Edgerton, Kansas, and Margie Winchel of Peculiar, Mo.

"Funeral services will be held at the Culver-Underwood Chapel Friday afternoon, January 17, 1947, at 2:30 o'clock. Burial will be made at the Benjamine cemetery east of Amoret."
