ELIJAH, known as "LIGE", migrated, with his three younger brothers from Tennessee to Benton County, Missouri in 18 51 . His father and mother both died young; 1841 and 1844 , respectively, and his move was the result of a need or desir e to be near his Uncle George Washington Miser who had moved to the Pea Ridge, Benton County, Arkansas area about 1848. "Granny Nicles" joined a wagon caravan and drove their wagon to Benton County. This woman was Mary Nubal Nicels (Nickles), relationship unknown, who was born 14 October 1782 , died 6 February 1866. Her name was added at the bottom of the page in their family Bible. Source #20Elijah and his wife, Nancy, were 1st cousins.

JACOB is shown in the 1800 census of Iredell Co., North Carolina and was in Wayne Co., Kentucky in 1810 & 1820, moving to eastern Tennessee, Rhea Co. in 1830, then just across the Tennessee River to McMinn Co. about 1835. Jacob shows on the 1840 McMinn Co., Tennessee census and left a will in the McMinn Co. Will Book #22, 23 Sept 1855. Jacob Buttram also appears in Will Book 1:140 JULY 1858; Rhea Co. , Tennessee. Jacob and his family founded Buttram's Chapel Methodist Church about 1835 in McMinn Co.
