ELIJAH applied for a pension for service in the War of 18 1 2 at Springville, Alabama on 27 June 1872.  He said he was a member of the Virginia Militia.  He fail to get his pension because he was unable to furnish sufficient information. He said that he had sent his Discharge Papers to Washington in 1853 and that he had lost his memory as to who his officers were.  His application was rejected 11 Augu st 1873 .  He died in an accident about 1873.  Source #20  From the Index to War of 1812: Butram?, Elijah--Pvt/Pv t . 4 Regiment, Virginia Militia.

Broyles.
