From The Rogers Book...

Stanley taught school for several years.  She was also postmistress oftheAudra Post Office and had a country store.

Stanley visted her family alone.  Black did not like the Rogers. Thereisa family story that Stanley was a religious person, but Black was not.Hetried several time to burn her bible.

They had no children, but she kept her brother, Samuel's clildrenafterhis death.

Black went to Louisville to buy a bill of goods.  He asked Stanleywhatshe wanted and she replied, "a pretty, little blue eyed boy".  Hecameback with Olney.  The name, James, was written on his clothes.
