[copeland.FTW]Jefferson Madison is not mentioned in Big Joe's will. Only his brother James Richardson is mentioned. Neither Jefferson nor James Richardson are mentioned in Hannah Thatcher Ward's will.
1840 Census has Jefferson Madison living near James Richardson Copeland (age 34).
A listing for Joseph Copeland in the 1850 Census includes Hannah (60), William (28), and Solomon (25). It reflects neighbors as Jefferson Copeland and Richard Copeland.
Jefferson moved his family to the Gabriel Mills community of Williamson County, Texas in 1861, near Margaret Copeland (b 1810 TN) and her husband John Gilbert Stewart, who had migrated in 1851.
Jefferson first appears on the Williamson County, Texas Tax Rolls in 1861. He was taxed for 100 acres in the Charles Myers survey.
