Was buried in the Emery Cemetery at Rockwood, Randolph Co., Illinois across from the old Mount Summit Church.
He was called "Bobby" until the age of ten when he decided that his name was Robert. At the time of his death some of his friends called him "Rob"
Move from Tulsa, Oklahoma to Hurst, Texas in July of 1961.
Injured his left upper arm in a skiing accident at North Dallas Lake in Texas in August of 1961.
Won the AAU 2nd All-Around in Gymnastics his senior year in high school, 1969.
Taught school at the time of his death at Weatherford High School and Middle School. Taught science and was their gymnastics coach. Was called "Coach Atch" by his students. He attended Odessa Jr. College in Odessa, Texas, University of Texas at the Purmeon Basin in Odessa, Texas, the University of Oklahoma at Norman, Oklahoma and the North Texas State University at Denton, Texas. Earned his B.S. and Teaching Certificate from North Texas University.
Robert and Claudia were married twice. The second time as twenty years after the divorce. She returned as his wife with two children, Shannon and Jesse.
