Of Prestonpans, Haddingtonshire, Scotland. Also said to be of East Lothian, Scotland. His family was apparently very influencial in Scotland at this time. John was a tailor in Edinburgh, Scotland at the time of his death. John is said to have died in Prestonpans.
Prestonpans was a region under Seton family control. A Seton inherited the Gordon estates by virtue of his mother, when the last of the male Gordons in succession died. He later assumed the name Gordon.

Moved to Marble Hill, County Armagh, Ireland in 1636. This was near John's cousins, Sir Archibald and Sir Henry Acheson.[NI019] Might have been the John who owned Huntly House in Edinburgh until 1609. Settled Glasdrum, Argyllshire, Scotland June 11, 1620 (where his father-in-law leased them 4s.2d. land with until they should die. On March 24, 1621 John had a lease of land left vacant by the decease of his mother-in-law Moved from there to Market Hill, Co. Armagh, Ire., in 1636, not far from his cousins Sir Archibald, and Sir Henry. He leased out land in Glasdrum left to him by his mother-in-law to his son David.

[NI023] George may have been born on April 13 1620 instead. He moved from Scotland to Ireland with his parents in 1636. He and his parents settled in Market Hill.
On Nov. 17, 1645 he complained that Patrick Cartie of Market Hill, son of Richard, deseised him of his free tenement in Glass Drummond and 8 acres of land, 2 acres of meadow there.
George may have returned to Haddington, Scotland at some point. Might have alternatively died before Mar 1, 1666.
