John MARKLAND

1  _UID A540653C09C8ED43A82F0F56FB4D60AF1A16

Conflicting information:  Peters states that John died in 1873 while Spears states that he was born about 1760.  Suspect it was transposition of 7 & 3.

Per "Markland Family and Some Allied Lines" by Caroline Carpenter, Richard was a Revolutionary soldier from Washington County, PA.   I have found no reference to Richard as a Revolutionary soldier or militiaman at this time.  His brother Mathew did serve as a private in the Washington County, VA militia with their future brother-in-law Brice VIRGIN & his brother Rezin VIRGIN.
