GEORGE W. BUTTRAM was killed at the battle of Perryvill e , K entucky.  He was a Private in Company H, 41st Regiment , Georgia Infantry, the Confederate Army. During this battle the Confederates had 510 killed in Action, the USA 845 ; CSA had 2635 wounded, the USA 2,815; and the CSA had 251 missing or captured, the USA 515.  The Union Army' s victory at Perryville, Kentucky, forced the Confederates to retreat to Tennessee, ending the invasion of Kentucky.  George is buried in Confederate Cemetery, Perryville Batt e field.
