Powell and their people on the Manor when Greenbury Peddigeart (sic) had to move to Lititz, and his sister, Sarah, and Mary Markland came on a visit. He married a Quaker Widow.
In 1811 he purchased a tract of land containing 177 acres for the sum of $304. "... a tract of land lying in Stokes County, NC, on the southwest side of the Middle Fork of Gargales or Muddy creek ... beginning at a birch tree on the bank of said Middle Fork, a corner of Henry Slater ... on Slater's other line ... etc. containing all the building and improvements.
