Ryland Thomas Dillard Zimmerman fought in two wars, the War with Mexico and the Civil War. He was in the Northern Army. My Dad said they used to call him "Hell Fire" for he was a preacher, evidently of the brimstone type. He lived and preached in Owingsville, KY, where I have seen records of his works at the alter. He applied for a pension from both wars, evidently in Mexico he became ill with a Montezuma revenge which he kept his lifetime. Ryland Thomas Dillard Zimmerman fought in two wars, the War with Mexico and the Civil War. He was in the Northern Army.

Have a map in 1880 of Owingsville showing that RTD lived where what is now called Hwy 36 on the east side of the road just south of Prickly Ash Creek and North of an Lee Branch..
