Frances's age on the 1870 Census is incorrect. It should be 79 instead of what is listed as 37.
I notice that she was listed as keeping the home. Telitha, George Lawrence Smith's wife is listed as "at home". The three girls were alive at the time.
This keeps with the idea she was demanding and Telitha on her wedding day was told to sew.

Something is wrong as I have him married to Frances Hord,d of James Hord and Mary Susan Mollie Miller. Their child Frances Ellen Slaughter was born 10 Mar. 1810 in Culpeper. The birth dates and Gabriel Slaughter and Frances Hord as parents are on Frances Ellen Slaughter's death record.
Frances was quite old(34) when she was married. The marriage date of 1797 in Caroline County would make Gabriel way up in years with a c birth 1725.
Any help would be appreciated.
James Hord names Frances in his will. A law suit names Frances and marrying a ? Slaughter. This suit must have happen years after. James must have had some problems with Simon Miller and the suit went on for years.
Frances Ellen Slaughter did receive some money before she was 16 as she married a Claudsley W Smith and was promptly relieved of the sum.
