Cassie Mason See Unionville Republican Cassie Mason See, daughter of George and Jane Mason, wsa born Sept 20, 1850, near Toronto, Canada, and departed this life May 31, 1935, at her home in Seymour, Iowa, at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 11 days. In 1870, she was united in marriage with William See. To this union was born 7 children; two children preceeded her in death. At the age of 31 years she accepted Christ as her personal saviour and united with the First Baptist Church, Centerville, Iowa. Later she moved her membership to the Baptist church at Seymour where she remained a member until her heavenly Father called her home. Grandma See as she was familiarly called was well known in Seymour where she spent half her lifetime. By her passing Seymour has lost a worthy citizen; her neighbors, a kind and thoughtful neighbor, and her children a devoted mother. She was the last member of a large family. She was ill only 2 days. A daughter and son were with her visiting when she was stricken. She leaves to mourn her departure 5 children: Mrs. Grant Smith of Ames Iowa; Mrs Elmer Hoscord of Chicago Illinois; J.W. of Excelsior Springs, MO. George of Ames Iowa; Edward of Moline, Illinois; 26 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren and other relatives and many friends. Funeral services held at the Baptist Church Sunday afternoon at 2:30.
