Ellen had 3 buckets. She carried 2 in her hands and one on herhead.Later they developed a rope and pulley method to get their water.Oftena lot of water would spill out of the bucket as it was pulled alongthecliff and rocks.

They owned a large country store and often bought items from the JohnW.Rogers, Jr. family and others in the neighborhood. Eggs were often15cents a dozen. Chicken were sometimes 10 cents a pound.
