According to Linnie Carr Garrett, William Carr came to Overton County from North Carolina. He was said to have killed the last panther in the area. William Carr donated the land that the Bethlehem Church in the Livingston area sits on.
The Copeland Cemetery and others in Copeland Cove are found be traveling north on 111 from Cookeville, TN to Livingston. Turrn right on 84 ( directly across the highway from the farmer's co-op ) and left at the second gravel road. The road forks left and right, take the left fork. go about 1/4 mile up the hill. The first cemetery, Copeland cemetery is on the right. The Thomas Carr cemetery is also in Copeland Cove, Overton Co., TN very near the Copeland cemetery. Exact directions will be posted later.
